If you’re like the rest of us, you’ve probably noticed that your traffic from Google has tapered off a bit lately. There are likely several reasons for that. Search Engine Journal hits on one reason, but I’m leaning to the Hummingbird algorithm as the main culprit.
There are a couple of ways you can approach this. You can not fret about it and seek other avenues of Web traffic or try to figure out how to increase your Google traffic. Probably, both approaches is the best way to go. Finding other sources of traffic is going to be the easiest. With that in mind, here are three easy alternative sources to Google website traffic.
- Social Media - The first alternative is social media. Step up your social media marketing and you will likely see more traffic to your website. If you do it right, it will be targeted traffic.
- Guest blogging – Find a few websites in your niche and offer to write a guest blog post for them. Niche third-party sites are great sources of new traffic for any website, so establish relationships with those bloggers and offer to write guest posts.
- Pay Per Click Advertising – Paid advertising is another source of traffic for many a website. PPC can often lead to increased targeted traffic and more immediate traffic. The downside is, you have to pay for it, but if you get a reasonable ROI from your efforts, it is certainly worth it.
