How To Enhance Holiday Marketing With Pinterest

This is a visual season. I love all the lights, the efforts that go into decorating spaces, and the ideas that start swirling like the traditional snowflakes. Why not use that visually appealing aspect of the holidays to utilize Pinterest in your marketing campaigns? The site has been reaching out to businesses and they have created a helpful page called Project Holiday to “help you add some extra tinsel to your marketing this season.”

3 Ways To Start

I expect the page to change as the season progresses, but when I looked at it there were three featured suggestions:

  • Create boards and Pins for the season — add Pins to your existing boards with ideas for the holiday (this will show up in your follower’s feeds), create new boards full of ways to use what you offer, and be a source of inspiration.
  • Add Product Pins to your Pins so details like price or description appear — there are a whole bunch of these Rich Pins and one of them will fit your business offerings and be another way to draw the customer into the sales funnel.
  • Show off the hottest holiday items — analyze your Pins and use the best-performing as features for emails, stores, or your site.

There is a lot more on Project Holiday, and I think it’s safe to say that Pinterest is planning on being a marketing staple in the future. If your business is not on Pinterest, you might be missing out on a lot more than you think.

Social media marketing is a powerful business tool that all of us could use. Even those businesses offering services can come up with interesting and appealing Pins, so what are you waiting for?
